Planning Appeal Win!

Manege found to be acceptable in Green Belt Location, irrespective of whether the land was agricultural or in equestrian use.

We have just won an approval for the erection of a manege and associated fencing on a site outside Wheathampstead where there was an argument as to the planning designation of the land. The District council claimed that an approval some 12 years ago indicated that it was agricultural, whilst evidence was submitted that it had been used for keeping horses for over 10 years.

The Inspector ruled that the use was irrelevant as the erection of a Manege was unlikely to be detremental to the Green Belt status of the land.
