Southill Estate - Southill, Bedfordshire
Three new Passivhaus dwellings constructed from prefabricated timber frames which are insulated using cellulose insulation (recycled newspaper) and all three are equipped with solar pv panels. These further reduce the energy demands of the houses and supplement the hot water requirements, the rest of which is provided by air source heat pumps, rendering the properties ‘gas free’. The walls are finished in a mixture of render and facing brickwork which ties the properties to their position in the Southill conservation area.
We have taken on the project post-planning to successfully get the development built out and certified to Passivhaus standards.
